JUDAEA. Bar Kochba Revolt, 132-135 C.E. AR Sela (15.25 gms), Jerusalem Mint, Attributed to Year 3 (134/5 C.E.). NGC Ch AU, Strike: 4/5 Surface: 4/5. Overstruck. Mildenberg-61 (O14/R46); Meshorer-267; Hendin-1411. Obverse: Facade of the Jerusalem Temple, containing showbread table; "Simon" around; Reverse: Lulav; etrog to left; "for the freedom of Israel" around. An incredibly brilliant and attractive example of this type from the final year of the revolt. Overstruck on a provincial tetradrachm likely from Antioch, as is customary for the type.
